Schedule of Services and ActivitesThe following is a listing of our regular meeting times and church activities. We would like to extend an invitation to you to join us for our services. You will find a warm and friendly welcome and a place where the Bible is preached. If you need transportation, please contact us at (785) 632-5822 and we will be glad to arrange a ride for you. We offer a supervised nursery for your little ones and classes for all ages. Our services are televised to our nursery and fellowship area should it be necessary to attend to your child outside the auditorium. Our efficient building design provides warmth in the winter time and air-conditioned comfort in the summer. You'll also appreciate our comfortable seating. Come and experience a setting of fellowship with the Lord and with His people.
What to Expect When You Visit UsSunday SchoolWe still call it Sunday School because here you will be taught wonderful truths from the Bible. And there are classes for all ages. The Bible is our textbook and we believe and trust it and desire to live it. Sunday Morning ServiceWe make no apology for preaching the "old-fashioned" Gospel. You will find a reverence for God's Word as it is proclaimed in the worship service and a true application of worship as the message of the Bible is applied to real life situations. We know that God's Word is powerful and that His grace is sufficient for every need that we may have. Youth MeetingsDuring this time our teens meet to learn songs and sing praises. We have an occassional time for quizzing from the Scriptures and a time to enjoy fellowship with other Christian teens. The songs that we learn are often used in the Teen Choir as a ministry in the Church. We are constantly learning and preparing music that is Scripturally accurate, understandable in presentation, and honoring to the Lord in style and sacred genre. Evening ServiceThe evening service provides an opportunity to hear preaching that is more didactic in content. Deeper study in the scope and coverage of the Word of God is brought out and made practical to the application of day-to-day living. The evening services are rich with word pictures and word studies in the languages from which the Bible was written and translated. You will be challenged from the preaching and you will learn how to study the Bible to know what God meant when He spoke. Tuesday VisitationThe visitation ministry is an outreach to new community move-ins as well as those who have lived in the community for some time. The visitation ministry provides an opportunity to share your faith with others and to extend an invitation to members of the community to come and see for themselves, the ministry of Emmanuel Independent Baptist Church. The visitation outreach also provides an opportunity to call on those who have visited our services, to answer questions about the Scriptures and our beliefs. Wednesday Evening ServicesWednesday evening provides classes for all ages and the opportunity to share prayer requests and to pray. The King's Kids, grades 1st thru 5th and younger for attending families, meet on Wednesday evenings to learn instruction from the Bible. The teens have a special section on Wednesdays as well. They pray for the needs of others and are taught Biblical principles that pertain to the issues they are facing in these days. The adults meet for their study of the Scriptures and spend time in prayer. |
